Cold Chain Eurasia 2024 Business Program: from the global agenda to practical competencies

Details have been released about the business program for the International Conference “Cold Chain Eurasia”, scheduled to take place in Saint Petersburg on September 19. The conference will serve as an effective platform for exchanging experiences and discussing strategies for developing an unbroken cold chain. It will once again bring together leading experts and business representatives to explore innovative logistics solutions for all types of temperature-sensitive cargo and discuss the practical application of it.

Key event

The welcome ceremony will be followed by a central event of the agenda, plenary session “Competitiveness of Russia in the Global ColdChain Market”. The discussion will be moderated by Mikhail Goncharov, Secretary General of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT). The session will address food security issues both within Russia and internationally. Participants will also explore the need to create a unified unbroken cold chain coordination mechanism — a project that has become increasingly relevant amid global economic challenges.

Special emphasis will be placed on government support measures for exporting Russian agro-industrial products to markets in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) and Southeast Asia (SEA). Experts will also discuss opportunities for developing infrastructure and technologies to support cold chain on international trade routes. Additional topics include cargo classification, key cold chain segments, and the need for special conditions applied to rail transportation of perishable products.

Market session “Cold Chain Business and Profits: Figures and Facts”

The market session “Cold Chain Business and Profits: Figures and Facts” will focus on the practical aspects and successful cases of transport and logistics companies in the international market. The discussion will be moderated by Natalia Stepanova, Deputy Secretary General of the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT).

Experts will examine new logistics routes for perishable goods, as well as services and technologies for transporting meat, fish, fruit, grain, and oil and fat products. Special attention will be given to pharmaceutical logistics and the specific features of air logistics for temperature-sensitive cargo.

Business session “Food Market: Retail and Logistics”

The business agenda will continue with a session devoted to relations between food market and logistics. Experts will examine the role of logistics as a key factor in enabling international trade operations.

Key topics will include unbroken cold chain control and the specific challenges of fresh product cross-docking. Participants will present their solutions to these challenges, utilizing advanced supply chain management methods.

Smart session “Cold Industry: Technologies of the Future”

The final event of the business program will be the smart session “Cold Industry: Technologies of the Future”. This event will focus on the search for, adaptation of, and use of innovative solutions for organizing and managing unbroken supply chain.

Participants will particularly explore the prospects of using digital currency for international transportation of temperature-sensitive cargo, the challenges of importing refrigeration equipment with ozone-depleting refrigerants into Russia, and potential AI-based solutions for cargo monitoring and route planning.

Participation is granted on a fee basis. Terms of participation and register form are available on the official website of the event. Consignors are welcomed to join the conference on special conditions – participation is free of charge.

The conference is organized by the International Coordinating Council on Trans-Eurasian Transportation (CCTT), the Association of Food Sector organizations (ASORPS) and the Expo Solutions Group, with support from the Association of European Businesses.
